I kind of just keep building things.

The Marigold started with one greenhouse and somehow turned into a business, a creative space, a 1900 fixer upper and a whole lot of projects in between. If you love beautiful spaces that still feel real and full of personality, you’re probably in the right place.

The people who seem to find their way here usually love the same things I do. Old houses, pretty spaces, before and afters, character, flowers and projects that maybe sounded like a better idea before they started.

Some people come here because they’re photographers looking for a beautiful place to create. Some are planning photos or a small event at The Marigold. Others are here because they love home renovations, DIY projects and watching an old space come back to life.
If you like things that are beautiful but still feel lived in and real, you’ll probably fit right in.

I’m a mom of two, a dental hygienist by trade and somehow also the person who decided building a greenhouse business from the ground up sounded like a reasonable idea.
The Marigold really started because I wanted to create something different. I loved the idea of having a beautiful greenhouse that photographers and families could actually use, so we built one.

Hi, I'm Allison

There was definitely no master plan for everything that came after that.
The greenhouse grew into a photography space, event space and small business. I started sharing more of the process online, which led to more home projects, DIYs, brand partnerships and eventually us buying a house built in 1900 to renovate.
What I’ve realized through all of it is that I really love seeing potential in a space and figuring out how to bring it out.
I also think that’s part of why The Marigold feels different. I’m actually involved in all of it. I’m the one changing setups, working on the spaces, answering questions, sharing the projects and trying new ideas.
So whether you’re coming to The Marigold for photos, following along with the house or getting inspiration for something you want to do yourself, you’re getting the real version of it.
The good parts, the messy parts and the parts where I probably should have researched a little more first.

A Few Things
About Me:

One idea that turned into about 47 other ideas.

The Marigold in one sectence:

Looking at Facebook Marketplace while simultaneously saying we do not need anything else.

Most likely to be doing:

Vintage over brand new.

I always choose:

Anything with a dramatic before and after.

Favorite kind of project:

Thinking almost every home project can probably be DIYed.

My toxic trait:

Old houses and figuring out what they looked like before someone renovated all the character out of them.

Current Obsession:
